​​​Fiorente’s Sire ​Monsun has ​provided an incredible influence in Australia – in particular the Melbourne Cup.  Monsun has had very limited progeny race in Australia, yet has been Sire for three of the last five Melbourne Cup winners.​ Fiorente ran second in 2012 Melbourne Cup followed with a victory in 2013.  Monsun has since passed away, however Fiorente looks well placed to pass on his legacy.

​​MODERN Melbourne Cup winners have to have speed as well as stamina, traits Fiorente (IRE) had in spades.
