Promising International Staying Prospect Joins Regal/Cumani
Taramansour Joins Regal/Cumani
Just a week after Melbourne Cup 2020, Regal Bloodstock has been successful in securing a Superior Quality Irish-bred prospect aimed to race in Australia’s great race in the near future. Marvelous Taramansour joins Regal/Cumani.
“He’s an exciting prospect, I think we managed to get him at a good price and I can’t wait to get him over here,” Matt Cumani said.
Taramansour contested arguably the strongest maiden race anywhere in the world this year when resuming from a spell at Leopardstown on June 9.
He finished only a few lengths behind the Aidan O’Brien-trained quartet of Tiger Moth, Dawn Patrol, Order of Australia and Amhran Na Bhfiann.
Tiger Moth, Dawn Patrol and Order of Australia were second, third and fourth respectively next time out in the Group 1 Irish Derby (2414m) while Amhran Na Bhfiann ran third in the Group 1 English Derby (2420m)
Skip ahead to the first week of November and Tiger Moth was favourite and finished runner-up in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) while Order of Australia won the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Mile (1600m) at Keeneland!
Taramansour since contesting the Leopardstown maiden won with blinkers applied over 2012 metres at Cork w on July 12.
Formerly trained by Dermot Weld for the Aga Khan, Taramansour is a Northern Hemisphere three-year-old colt that is a half relation to Group 3 winners Taniyar and Tanaza.
An oustanding prospect in what has been a terrific year of acquisitions for Regal Bloodstock.
