Taramansour’s Spectacular Victory at Flemington: A Day to Remember
The Big T storms home at Flemington, delivering his best performance yet.
No horse in Melbourne that has earned a Saturday win here more than the Big T, and today he proved why.
It was a race we had to be patient for, but when Taramansour broke through, he did it in spectacular fashion.
Today, he was simply outstanding.
The start didn’t go exactly to plan – missing the jump by half a length, but that minor hiccup set the stage for Plan B: settle in the back of the field, find a good rhythm, and wait for the right moment to strike.
Jaylah, as always, was a standout.
She rode with supreme confidence and didn’t try to force anything. Instead, she let the race come to them.
Our main worry heading into the race was whether Taramansour would get too keen early on, so we kept things light between his Sydney run and today.
He’s been enjoying some well-earned downtime on the farm, and let me tell you, that break did wonders.
He came into the race fresh, full of energy, and ready to unleash everything.
Taramansour is a horse with a brilliant wind and top-tier fitness.
Anyone who saw him in Sydney knew how strong and fit he is.
He was just waiting for his shot at an extra two furlongs – and today, he got it.
Jaylah was terrific.
She showed plenty of confidence in our boy and instead of improvising, took a sit on the rails and Tarmansour obliged travelling in a comfortable rhythm off the speed.
Around the 800m mark, the pace started to ease, and you could feel the tension.
Taramansour was full of running and ready to explode, but he was boxed in, stuck behind a wall of horses.
It was nail-biting.
But in a move that took real guts, Jaylah surged forward, found a narrow gap between Bitcoin, and shot through.
As soon as Taramansour found that gap, he exploded.
It was like a coiled spring being released.
In a flash, he went past the favourite, Flamin Romans, and surged to the front, crossing the line for dominant win.
And not just any win – a class record time, 11.82 lengths faster than the average!
What an extraordinary win from the Big T!
Without a doubt, this was the best performance of his career.
He’s in blistering form right now, and when it comes to stayers, that’s a huge deal.
Huge thanks to Phil and the team at Stokes Racing for their amazing work and to Jaylah for her poise and courage.
The future looks incredibly exciting for Taramansour, and with more to come in the coming weeks, the Big T looks poised to catch up with unfinished business.
