Exceed And Excel x Ektifaa colt
From the final crop of a champion sire.

The last of Exceed And Excel
Exceed And Excel was Champion Sire of Australia and has sired 20 Group 1 winners. This colt is from his final crop. There won't be another.
The Bivouac cross
He's bred exactly the way Bivouac was: Exceed And Excel over a More Than Ready mare. Bivouac won three Group 1s: the Golden Rose, the Newmarket Handicap and the VRC Sprint Classic. No two horses are the same, but this cross has already worked at the very top.
A family that wins
His dam, Ektifaa, won four races in a row, including a Group 2 and a Group 3. Her foals win too: Ikasara (two wins and third in the Listed Heritage Stakes) and Indaza (two wins), and his half-sister Ektifire won her maiden by four and a half lengths. Go back to his third dam, Calvinia, and she had ten runners for ten winners.
John McArdle knows this family
He goes to John McArdle, who trains our Regal Zeus. John already knows the family well: in 2024 he bought this colt's half-sister, Reggie Charlie, and rates her as possibly the most explosive filly he's trained.
The plan
A spell at Hannover Lodge, then into John's stable from late November for a barrier trial and jump-out. He's in the Inglis Race Series, so possible targets include the Inglis Millennium at two if he's exceptionally forward, the Inglis Challenge, and the Inglis Sprint at three.
Race him in emerald and gold.
